چکیده

Current ad-hoc network protocols are designed for hosts similar to those used in fixed networks. Those protocols are not adequate for some applications of ad-hoc networks, where used resources are very scarce. One example is the size of the network addresses, which may be a critical issue, specially with the use of IPv6 in DSR. This is due to the fact that this protocol uses source routing, so each datagram must carry the addresses of all the machines in its path. In this paper a new protocol named ADSR is proposed to solve this problem. This new protocol is a modified version of DSR based on using abbreviated addresses. The abbreviation procedure can lead to two different nodes having the same address, what we will named ’collision’. ADSR does not avoid but allow collisions, which is analyzed in this paper. Some results about this new protocol performance are shown. This results have been obtained by simulations implemented in ns-2 network simulator.

Broadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach

While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

LEBRP - A Lightweight and Energy Balancing Routing Protocol for Energy-Constrained Wireless Ad Hoc Networks

A wireless ad hoc network typically refers to any set of wireless networks where all devices have equal status on a network and are free to associate with any other wireless ad hoc network devices in their range. As the nature of these networks, they commonly do not have external power supplies, and each node has a limited internal power source. In this paper, we put forward a new routing proto...

Multicast computer network routing using genetic algorithm and ant colony

Due to the growth and development of computer networks, the importance of the routing topic has been increased. The importance of the use of multicast networks is not negligible nowadays. Many of multimedia programs need to use a communication link to send a packet from a sender to several receivers. To support such programs, there is a need to make an optimal multicast tree to indicate the opt...

Separating Routing and Forwarding: A Clean-Slate Network Layer Design (Invited Paper)

We present a “clean-slate” design for a networklayer routing and forwarding system intended to address shortcomings of the current Internet Protocol. Our design separates routing from both forwarding and topology discovery; requires only a flat, topology-independent namespace; and allows for policies of both users and service providers to be supported. Channels serve as the primary abstraction,...
